Panda Cares, the philanthropic arm of our business, promotes our spirit of giving and is dedicated to providing food, funding, and volunteer services to children’s organizations, local schools, and disaster relief efforts. Associates within Idaho have benefited from a few recent initiatives to help self-development and self-growth. A Pay by Performance program has been implemented at all stores to give associates the option of completing online courses, outside of their current roles, to elevate their operational knowledge and earn more money. This is a fast and relatively simple way of quickly increasing an associate's hourly rate and creating stronger management candidates among the team.
Because we feel the first few months after joining Panda is the most critical in retaining our people, we implemented an Onboarding Program in 2018 that provides a breakdown of critical information during the associate's first 30 days of hire. This is a 3-4 week program where they'll meet with their managers and spend time talking about Panda's benefits and growth opportunities.
Another benefit that our associates have access to is our relocation packages. We have relocated people in and out of the region to support both the company's growth as well as the associate's own growth.
