There are always items that don’t translate easily to a recruitment ad, and what we have found that feels different to us about working for The Car Park is:
· We’ve found a place where we can grow. Career development is important to most people. The Car Park mentors employees and translates that into action. 60% of our supervisory openings this year were filled through promotion from within.
· We see a place that reflects all of us at every level of the organization. For example, over 46% of our firm’s leadership positions (manager or above) are held by women, well above the industry average of 39%, and 32% of our managers are classified as members of EEO groups other than Caucasian or White.
· We offer a solid tuition reimbursement program that includes not just college or job training programs but also industry specific certifications. Most industries offer certifications that are industry specific. Sometimes, those are even more valuable to be promoted or do well within the industry at large. Because those certifications are specific to individuals and travel with them in their career, a company may choose for the employee to pay for the training and certification costs personally. If we invest in the individual, even though at some point their job choices change, we have benefited as a company, shown them value as an individual and helped our industry progress.
· We all know part of creating a great company culture can be introducing fun to our work environment, but we believe The Car Park takes it up a notch. Sure, we have Nerf wars, pinewood derby races, on-premise mini-golf competitions, Family Feud games and more but those activities are planned at all levels of the organization instead of just at the managerial level.
· The Car Park is as dedicated to the community as to their employees. Both full-time and part-time employees receive paid time off each year to volunteer at a local non-profit of our choice. We appreciate that each of us get to choose what is meaningful to us when it comes to volunteering.
